ACADEMY STANDARD

SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION

Standard 1: Integrated Curriculum
Knowing that Deltona HS will be moving ALL courses to the Proficiency Model for the upcoming school year, how will this effect the integration of curriculum; especially when some core teachers teach in multiple academies. I know all of our teachers have curriculum maps to follow, but how does that play out with the PM and the inability to completely integrate? In past years, we have started to create other integrated units (ie: health fair). A few of our units can be found on the career connection website already.
Standard 2: Career Focus

Standard 3: Program of Study
Our students complete the NREMT skills and written exam for industry certification at the conclusion of the course. To date, we have had 7 students pass both sections of the exam.
Standard 4: Advisory Committee
See the attached Advisory Board members list. Memos and E-mails to and from Advisory Board members can be found on my saved e-mail. The appointed person/business by our academy for the Cadre is the City of Deltona Fire Rescue Dept; not sure of exact involvement at this time though.
Standard 5: Enrollment

Standard 6: Pure Schedule
*Pulled by the district.
Standard 7: Common Planning / Collaboration

Standard 8: Staff Development
Attached to this standard is information regarding "approximately" how many inservice points each academy teacher earned from June 2010 to current. School-based hours have not all been reported yet, so each teacher may have a few more than estimated.
Standard 9: Articulation
In addition to the District and DHS Showcases, we had our 8th grade students attend an 8th grade registration night on either March 22nd, 24th, or 29th. It was a time when the students could ask questions and get registered for classes for next school year. We also had a student request to "shadow" on our campus, and arrangements were made for that student.
Standard 10: Workbased Learning
Also see Standard #2; as we have many opportunities we offer our students during the school year!
Standard 11: Capstone Project
Also see Standard #2; as we have many projects that we have our students complete throughout the year; which typically lead up to their BIG project at the end of the school year.
Standard 12: Marketing
Note: The Alumni Members that are involved with our academy are identified on the Advisory Board Member Roster in Standard #4. HSA_Wolfie_Tshirt_front.jpgHSA_Wolfie_Tshirt_back.jpgHealth_Academy_10-11_15.JPGHSA_Logo.pnghosa_logo_2_sm.gif
